About Us.
At Embody Therapy Group we have made extensive effort to accommodate every BODY. We have a team of therapists who offer treatment for most psychosocial and mental health concerns, such as depression, anxiety, trauma, eating disorders, PTSD, self-esteem, bipolar disorder, grief, sleep concerns, addictions, relationship issues, borderline personality disorder, chronic pain, body image concerns, ADHD and life transitions. We also have a team of registered dietitians who can provide you with support in a multitude of areas, including disordered eating, eating disorders, pre and post bariatric surgery, sports nutrition, baby led weaning, family meal planning, chronic disease management, IBS, food allergies, Celiac disease, Crohn's disease, grocery store tours and even in-home visits. Our providers have taken the HAES pledge ® as a commitment to ensure our clients are treated with complete dignity and respect. We recognize that health and well-being are multi-dimensional and that they include physical, mental, social, spiritual, occupational, emotional, and intellectual aspects. We want you to feel welcome and comfortable here. When you arrive at Embody Therapy Group please just walk into our open waiting area. We do not have a receptionist, and many clients say that they prefer the ability to walk into our space quietly and privately without needing to say anything to anyone. At the time of your appointment, your therapist will be out to greet you in the waiting room and welcome you into their space. While you wait, please help yourself to a drink, browse through our community resources, take a look at our reading material or choose to be creative with a colouring page from a mindful colouring book.
Embody Therapy Group was founded by Patty Rempel and Chelsey Stang to fill a gap in services for people in Central Alberta. It was evident in the research that too many people were having to travel outside of this area, or wait for long periods of time, for mental health support and the physical and psychosocial stressors that often accompany these concerns. The aligning of disciplines in the areas of mental health therapy, nutrition therapy, yoga, meditation and mindfulness honours the complexities of the whole person. Offering support to clients in both individual and group settings accommodates many needs. Patty and Chelsey are highly collaborative and it is their hope that Embody Therapy Group becomes a model of evidenced-based multidisciplinary support available close to home for Central Albertans. They know that the support their clients receive at Embody Therapy Group will be transformative for their community and those within it.
